way better)Ī former roommate of this guy knew MAC's very well. (I'd advice not to use hotmail, just get gmail. I think (I assume) it is something like Outlook (on PC) that servesīut to use it with hotmail, you need this plugin: Its one of those applications of Apple that does not have an i in it. I-Photo and I-Tunes are both Apple applications. Well there is an icon (alias) on the dock that says that. so I figure all I need to do is reconfigure it to go to the Hotmail account instead of the sbc_net account. the I-Mail alias is still there, (at least it was unless he trashed it also like he apparently did the Firefox alias after I left). through I-mail and he showed me the alias. and only THEN did he say that the former roommate used to get on email with only "1" click. (and told him to just use 12345678 as a password.

So I preset Firefox with a bookmark to go to his Hotmail login page. I didn't know that had already been set up, (and my friend really didn't either). he is the dyslectic guy I have talked about before). but the guy still never used it cause he forgot the password, (he has to write them down. and had preset it to automatically go to another previous email account that he had (sbc_net). I think (I assume) it is something like Outlook (on PC) that serves as a mail-manager.Ī former roommate of this guy knew MAC's very well. Since I-Photo and I-Tunes are both Apple applications. What is I-Mail? Never heard of that one, to tell you the truth. SO I want to reconfigure the I-MAIL to instantly in Hotmail. It still works, but he has no idea of the password. he now tells me that someone else had also set up quick access to another email account through I-Mail. so I can very easily see him "dragging" the Firefox icon. but he says the Firefox icon is no-longer there. so he could immediately get to email with "three" clicks. and then saved the opening hotmail screen as a "bookmark". It's running and choosing Keep in Dock from the popup menu. You can also putĪ program in the dock permanently by clicking on the dock icon when Run it, but disappears again when you're through with it, which mightīe another possible cause for the disappearing icon.

If a program is not already in the dock, it appears there when you Locate the original icon and highlight it (single click) then typeĬommand-L (the Command key is the one with the Apple symbol) toĬreate an alias and place that alias wherever you like.

How do I create and delete icons on the "desktop" screen itself ?
REVIEW LAUNCHBAR COMMANDER WINDOWS
So how do it get the equivalent of Windows Explorer ?
REVIEW LAUNCHBAR COMMANDER HOW TO
Note that I also do not know how to get into the equivalent of "Windows Explorer" which is were I go on the PC to find a program, and create an icon from there. so he may indeed have "drug" it accidently up about the dock into the desktop, (and you say it would have then disappeared). But now the guy I am trying to help says it is gone. Cause I KNOW that the (Firefox) icon WAS THERE last week. Grab them from the Dock and drag to the desktop and they'll disappear Its called the Dock and you can change the size to suit. There appears to be the same thing, (even larger) on the MAC. there is a "quick-launch" bar on the bottom of I know PC's, but know nothing about MAC's.
